Many people do not realise that there is not just one value for your item but different final valuation figures depending on the purpose. Our valuation services are tailored to your requirements. As standard we offer a paperless service, providing a PDF copy of your schedule complete with hi resolution photographs. For an additional fee we can also offer a printed version. Assessments take place in the comfort of your home.
Insurance Valuations
We provide a comprehensive and detailed valuation document to ensure a replacement will be as closely comparable to the original as possible. Your valuation can be used by in insurance companies to determine a settlement for a ‘replacement value’ in the event of loss or theft. Identifying the appropriate level of insurance (on different levels based on the intended use.) i.e. new replacement value, second hand replacement value or antique replacement value. The valuation can be used by an insurer to calculate insurance premiums for your item ensuring the correct level of cover is maintained for replacement.
Probate
We identify, clearly assess and describe the item. Recording in writing and using photographs for reference, Noting quality and condition. Probate valuations are at open market level, meaning auction hammer prices or mid auction estimate. This is in compliance with HM Revenues & Customs, section 160 of the Inheritance Tax Act 1984. Division of Assets
This can be for different reasons. Post loss Assessment
If an item is has unfortunately already been lost or stolen we can still help. This will not be in the form of a 'valuation document' as we have not been able to visually assess the piece. We glean and consider all relevant information provided by the customer. Including photographs and documentation to assist where possible. Our post loss assessment will be used by your insurer as a quotation or estimate for replacement. We rely on as much information as possible from the client for this to be as accurate as we possibly can.
Jewellery Box Assessment
Many people have have a mixture of jewellery in their collection from different sources and periods. Inherited, gifted and collected over the years. Rachel can sort through your jewellery. Testing unmarked metal and gemstones and provide you with insight into which pieces hold value.
